Louis Wain ( b. 1860 Clerkenwell, London - d. St Albans 1939). He was an English artist best known for his drawings of large-eyed animals, most famously cats and kittens. He was associated with the National Cat Club. He died in Napsbury Hospital St Albans on 4 July 1939. His work is highly collectable.
