Titled:A Hamper of Guinness and an Umbrella
A full page colour advert dated 1955 advertising Guinness, the Irish dry stout. It refers to the chattels of Mrs Bloss; an extract from a piece by Charles Dickens, Sketches by Boz. A burley man carrying a hamper full of stout etc, with an umbrella over his arm; inset of Charles Dickens; an explanation of the story to the advert and the Guinness connection.
Provenance: From the Illustrated London News; Published London 1955. The Illustrated London News was a newspaper founded by Herbert Ingram, with the first edition appearing on 14 May 1842. reive.
Condition/Dimensions: The page measures overall 360x250mm (14.25x9.75 ") approx. It is printed on both sides (the reverse is the red outer front advertising cover) . There is a little age yellowing; please check the picture(s) for condition. The advert is dated. Watermarks on the listings image do not appear on the original advert. This item will be packaged in a tube and sent Royal Mail Small Parcels.
