A colourful and very attractive pictorial map which features a decorative cartouche and compass; a table of distances in miles. Suitable for mounting and framing. A Pictorial plan of the Roads to the South Coast (from London, and covering from Margate in the East along the South Coast to Christchurch and Boscombe in the West). Small coloured sketches of landmarks and architectural features of most of the larger towns mentioned along the road. Here are some of them:

There is a table titled Table of Distances - The Road from London listing various places. There are notation in the English Channel from William Shakespeare, William Blake, and Horace Smith.
Suitable for framing. It measures 385 x 285mm (15.25 x 11.25") plus borders, with an as published fold. It is in good condition with a little age yellowing. It is blank on the reverse apart from titles. It originally would have been in an atlas, edge mounted so as to avoid damage to the map, and not stapled. The map will be packaged in a tube and sent Royal Mail Small Parcels. Postage and packing is charged at cost.
