A colourful and very attractive pictorial map which features a decorative cartouche and compass; a table of distances in miles. It includes a compass rose, and vignettes forming coloured sketches of landmarks and architectural features of places mentioned along the road. Plus literary quotations from Francis Sylvester Mahony - John Todhunter - Richard Brinsley Sheridan - Thomas Moore - Alfred Perceval Graves - etc. The map is suitable for framing.

Provenance: These maps were originally produced for Pratts Motor Oil Co. which was replaced by The Anglo American Oil Co. Ltd (Esso) in the 1930s; Published by H. K. McCann Co. Ltd 109 Jermyn St London. Date estimated: 1932-36
Suitable for framing. It measures 385 x 285mm (15.25 x 11.25") plus borders, with an as published fold. It is in good condition with a little age yellowing. It is blank on the reverse apart from titles. The watermarks do NOT appear on the actual map. It originally would have been in an atlas, edge mounted so as to avoid damage to the map, and not stapled. The map will be packaged in a tube and sent Royal Mail Small Parcels. Postage and packing is charged at cost.
