About the artist: Archibald Thorburn FZS (b. Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland 1860 - d. 1935 Hascombe, Surrey) was a Scottish artist, animal painter and bird illustrator, painting mostly in watercolour. He was the son of Robert Thorburn (1818–1885), who was also an artist and most notably a portrait miniaturist to Queen Victoria. He married Constance Maud M. Mudie and had one son Philip. His grave is at St John the Baptist church in Busbridge, Godalming.

This is an original print from the date stated and not a scan or a later re-print. It measures overall 315 x 253 mm ( 2.5 x 10 ") approx. It is on high grade good quality card, with a blank reverse and is in good condition. This print is suitable for mounting and framing.
