British Patrols Enter Gaza After the Final Successful Attack
A full page from a drawing by Frank Dadd dated 1917. It shows General Edmund Allenby's forces during the Battle of Gaza entering the town. There is a caption article (approx 90wds) below the title.
On the reverse there are two smaller images from drawings British Airmen Attack Turkish Infantry and Charge of British Yeomanry in Palestine. There is also an incomplete article on the page describing the campaign in Palestine etc.
Provenance: The Great War - Amalgamated Press. c1918. The Great War series was published between 1914 and c1919.
A full page print from a publication, as the date and provenance states, and not a modern reproduction. The page measures approx 315 x 225 mm (12.25 x 8.75 inches). It is printed on both sides. There is a some age yellowing with handling marks to the edges; a small crease to top corner at border (see scan). The watermark does not appear on the original item. This item will be packaged in a board backed envelope. "Info." in the description is my research, although relevant to the accompanying image, article etc., is not necessarily in the text.
