MAP Hants Territorial Battalion SENTRY THAMES EMBANKMENT

A full page including map from a publication, from the dated stated and not a later reproduction; the map is titled:

Map of Sea and Land Communications Between East and West, Illustrating the Area of Japan's Naval Activity and The Trans-Siberian Railway Link Between Vladivostok and the Arctic Sea

Date Published: c1918.

On the reverse are two photographic images:

Dirty Weather in the Great City - shows a guard on the Thames Embankment wearing oilskins and a sou'wester.

Taking No Chances of Surprise - soldiers belonging to a Hants Territorial Battalion on shore duty looking through a telescope.

There is also text on the page; although interesting it does not necessarily relate to the images. Some of the text relates to the increased air raids over Kent and Essex of German Gotha aircraft, with a small piece by Colonel Repington (approx 120 words).

Provenance: The Great War - Amalgamated Press. c1918. The Great War series was published between 1914 and c1919. Sleekburnc.

A full page print from a publication, as the date and provenance states, and not a modern reproduction. Page measures approx overall 315 x 225 mm (12.25 x 8.75 inches). It is printed on both sides. There is a some age yellowing with handling marks to the edges. This item will be packaged in a board backed envelope. "Info.” in the description is my research, although relevant to the accompanying image or article, is not necessarily in the text. Reference resource historical research material WW1.
