British troops advancing on the crest of the hill; in the foreground, a rifle and helmet upstanding in the ground next to a trench possibly indicating the position of a dead soldier.
German Prisoners carrying back wounded from Morval.


On the other side is a small image within text showing Canadian troops with pick-axes marching to the Somme Front.

Provenance: The Great War - Amalgamated Press. Published circa 1916. The Great War series was published between 1914 and c1919.


The page measures 310 x 225 mm (12.25 x 8.75 inches) approx. There is text/images on both sides. There is a little age yellowing with handling marks/creases to the edges.
