TITLED: The Stepping Stone to Gallipoli - Sketches at the Advanced Base Depot in Lemnos
A wonderful full page print suitable for framing. It shows two prints from drawings by B. Halton. The first is entitled Lord Kitchener at Mudros: A Surprise Inspection of Reinforcements. The second shows a regiment returning from the Gallipoli Trenches: a handful of men worn out with dysentery, and with trench Legs failing under them - B. Halton Nov 1st 1915.
One the front reverse are three photographic images with text showing refugees etc:

French Prisoners of War Released From Germany.
There is also an article by F. R. on the page entitled Hurrying from the Hun: Adventures of Fugitives by Land and Sea it gives a very interesting account of an English girl escaping from Belgium to Holland. sleekburnc.
This print is from an original newspaper from the date stated; not a scan and not a later re-print. A publication similar to The Illustrated London News, The Graphic was a weekly illustrated newspaper published by H. R. Baines and Company Ltd of Tallis House, Whitefriars, City of London. The page measures overall 395 x 275 mm (15.5 x 10.75 " ) approx. It is printed on both sides. There is a little age yellowing. This item will be packaged in a tube.
