CONDITION/DIMENSIONS

This is an original USED newspaper not a scan and not a later re-print.

A publication similar to The Illustrated London News, The Sphere was a weekly illustrated newspaper published by The Sphere and Tatler Ltd., Great New St. London EC.

Eighteen pages (36 sides). This is a used antique newspaper. It measures 395 x 285 mm (15.5 x 11.25inches). The outer front cover has a repaired tear to the bottom and small turns around the edges. Inside, there are three repairs to border edges to stop tears getting worse. Some of the pages are loose. The staples are rusty leaving witness marks. The back outer cover has age yellowing/spotting (see Pears Soap advert scan). The back cover shows the original owners name and address written in ink probably by the newsagent: "Mr G. Statham, Rock End, Wellington St. Matlock Bank, Matlock". There is also a penny stamp (stamped) next to the name and address on the back cover. The images vary in size. The images are NOT in colour unless otherwise stated.

PLEASE NOTE: I cannot guarantee that the issue is complete 'as published' - but what I have described above IS present. As far as I can tell there are no pages missing (as well those stated above), so if you are looking for something in particular in this issue PLEASE ASK. If you require information on size of articles (i.e. number of words), sizes of images, please ask before bidding or buying. The process of the page numbering in The Graphic issues carry on from the previous issue therefore do not start at number 1. This item will be packaged in a tube to be sent RM Small Parcels.
