A map on a full page covering areas of from Riga, Livonia, Courland in the north down to Grodno Lida, Minsk, Baranovitschi in the south

On the reverse there is a full page: Trapped in a Froest of Barbed Wire Entanglements.....Russian soldiers threw themselves against strong barbed wire in an endeavour to break through to the German trenches....While still grasping his rifle, the man's body is seen suspended by the fatal wire. Provenance: The Great War - Amalgamated Press. Published circa 1915.

The page measures 310 x 225 mm (12.25 x 8.75 inches) approx. and is printed on both sides. There is a little age yellowing with handling marks to the edges. This item will be packaged in a board backed envelope. The watermark on the map is for the listing image only and is not on the actual map.
