From a drawing by Norman Wilkinson showing a French airship or dirigible passing over a British destroyer and two submarines.
On the front reverse is a full page showing five photographs of British Army soldiers being transported to France by ship; horses being unloaded; ladies greeting our soldiers. Within text.
On the reverse back are three photographic images of the recruitment campaign: Hundreds of Motor Cyclists mustered o Wimbledon Common, London; Central London Recruiting Depot Besieged with men; and recruiting drills in Hyde Park. Within text.
Provenance: The Great War - Amalgamated Press. c1914. The Great War series was published between 1914 and c1919.
A double page print from a publication, as the date states and not a modern reproduction. Printed on good grade quality paper, it measures overall 430 x310mm (18x12inches) approx. It is printed on all sides. There is an as published fold to the centre with staple witness marks - see scan. There is a some age yellowing with handling marks to the edges. This item will be packaged in a board backed envelope. "Info." in the description is my research, although relevant to the accompanying image or article, is not necessarily in the text.
