A sepia photogravure print from a photograph by Gale and Polden. The title beneath is in beautiful copperplate style writing. Info. John Denton Pinkstone French (later 1st Earl of Ypres) b. Ripple, Kent 1852 – d. Deal Castle 1925.

Provenance: The Great War - Amalgamated Press. c1914. The Great War series was published between 1914 and c1919.kburnc.

An original full page photogravure presented with The Great War publication, as the date states and not a modern reproduction. It measures 310 x 230 mm (12 x 9 inches) approx. It is blank on the reverse and suitable for framing. There is a some age yellowing with handling marks to the edges. This item will be packaged in a board backed envelope.
