Photographic study of the Russian ballet dancer sitting in front of a large mirror and wearing a beautiful embroidered dress; her ballet shoes peeping from beneath her hem. There is a subtitle by bird which reads O woman! woman! Thou art form's to Bless - the heart of restless man, to chase his car, and charm existence by thy loveliness from the poem Woman is the Light of Love by James Bird .

Provenance: The Sketch (magazine) - Publisher: The Illustrated London News and The Sketch Ltd. London 1894. A British illustrated magazine, which focused on the theatre, high society and aristocracy, art, sport and leisure A Journal of Art and Actuality. It ran between 1893 and 1959. It was renowned for its many beautiful engravings and high photographic content.
