A large original circa 1905 map, produced by George Philip and Son for the London Geographical Institute.

Entitled:

Western Switzerland and the Bernese Oberland

A very detailed circa 1905 map, it shows: Valais - Mont Blanc - Pennine Alps - Lepontine Alps - Bernese Oberland - Lake Geneva or Lac Leman - Vaud - Fribourg - Jura Mountains - Lac de Neuchatel - L. de Morat - Berne - Thuner See - Brienzer Sea - Unterwalden (part)- Reive - Luzern - Solothurn - Aargau - Basel - Sol - etc. There is an inset of The Environs of Berne. It borders with France, Germany and Italy. It also shows railway routes, roads, steam and tramway routes.

There is an original as published fold to the centre which has been repaired at either end. It has a blank reverse (blank apart from titles and a key map). It measures overall 510 x 390 mm ( 20 x 15.25 inches ) approximately, and is ideal for mounting and framing. This map will be sent rolled in a protective postal tube unless otherwise requested (which may have an effect on packaging costs). It originally would have been in an atlas, edge mounted so as to avoid damage to the map, and not stapled. Please Feel free to ask any questions, we will try to answer promptly.
