There is a list, explanation and key of all the "Company's Lines in separate character" listing the company and termini: London and North Western, Great Western, Midland, Great Northern, Great Eastern, South Eastern, London Brighton and South Coast, London and South Western, London Chatham and Dover, Great Central, Tilbury and South End, Metropolitan and District, North London, Central London, Waterloo and Kensington, etc.
The railway, routes and stations are superimposed over the top of a street plan of London.
It covers from Snaresbrook, Plaistow, Canning Town, West Combe Park, Blackheath and Grove Park in the East,
To Castle Hill, Isleworth and Spring Grove, Miel Hill Park, Strawberry Hill, and Teddington in the West,
From Hendon, East End, Hornsey, West Green, Seven Sisters Rd, Tottenham, and Wood street in the North,
To Hampton Wick, Wimbledon, Tooting, Streatham Common, Crystal Palace, Sydenham, Lower Sydenham and Grove Park , in the South.
Others places shown include Snow Hill, Sloane Square, Notting Hill Gate, Queens Rod Bayswater, Rotherhithe, Reive, Midland Terminus St Pancras, Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Bethnal Green etc.
There is an alphabetic list of stations to the left and right of the map, detailing the stations names and grid reference locations.
PLEASE NOTE: The maps are very detailed, and I try to reflect this when I write my descriptions; there may be a few typo mistakes! so if you are looking for anything in particular, please ask us to verify its presence before buying.
It measures overall 510x345mm (20x13.5inches) approx. including borders. It has an as published fold to the centre. It originally would have been in an atlas, edge mounted so as to avoid damage to the map, and not stapled. It is suitable for framing. There is a little age yellowing. The central fold has split at both ends for approx. 3cm or 1.25 inches, and these have been repaired on the reverse. There are also 3 minor repairs to edges. . The listing images may show watermarks; these are NOT on the actual maps. This item will be packaged in a tube and sent Royal Mail Small Parcels.
