The Illustrated London News was founded by Herbert Ingram. The first edition appeared on 14 May 1842 and was the first of its kind to feature engraved images illustrating news articles of the day. 

This is an original USED newspaper, not a scan and not a later re-print. If there is a particular date you require eg. for a birthday or anniversary etc. please ask.

The four digit number in brackets in title is for my ref only.
It measures 365 x 260 mm (14.25 x 10.25 “).The spine is loose with binding witness marks where once bound, some pages are loose. There is some age yellowing with some spotting. Some pages may have minor cuts tears and blemishes due to their great age. The engravings vary in size. There are no outer advertising pages/cover unless otherwise stated.
The images are in black and white unless otherwise stated.This item will be packaged in a tube.

PLEASE NOTE: I cannot guarantee that the issue is complete 'as published' - but what I have described above IS present.
