A beautiful hand coloured print from engraving showing the grass, seed, stem, root, etc of the Carex Speirostachya or Dense Short Spiked Carex. From the date stated and not a later reproduction. It measures overall 233mm x 142 mm ( 9.25 x 5.5 inches) approximately. The print bears the plate marks around the edges from the printing process. There is a little age yellowing. There is very slight bleedthrough of print from original pages. Please check the larger picture for condition.This item will be shipped flat in a board backed envelope, and protected inside that envelope by a plastic sleeve.
